Today’s challenge theme is stripes, and I decided to try something for the first time: A striped gradient.
I used six different blues for my gradient and I loved that I could include glitter polishes 🙂 I didn’t manage to get the stripes even on each nail, but I loved the final look nonetheless. Excuse the ding on my index finger, I didn’t even notice I’d bumped it until I was taking photos!
The polishes I used for this were, from the base of the fingers to the tips: Charlie Revlon – Captivating; Revolution Crystal – Saphire (sic); Essence Colour & Go – The Boy Next Door; Sinful Colors – Fly Away; Nails Inc. London special effects – Sprinkles – Pudding Lane; and Tip Top Nail Chic – Beach Babe.
This took a while to finish since I had to wait for stripes to dry before I could tape over them to do the following stripe. This made it take a lot longer than a sponge gradient would, but I love the look of it and how you can see each individual polish (especially the sprinkles) in a way that you wouldn’t with a sponged gradient.
What do you think of this look? Have you tried a tape gradient before? I will definitely be trying it again with different colour combinations!
I hope you liked today’s nails, don’t forget to come look at my first ever animal print nails tomorrow 🙂
