Hi everyone!
Finally, we reach my favourite nail colour: Violet, which means I get to use PURPLE polishes!
AND I used a textured polish, yay! As I have mentioned before, when I couldn’t find liquid sands anywhere near me, the delightful Michelle over at Ordinary Misfit got them for me and posted them to me! How amazing is that?
I started off by doing a gradient of Essence colour & go Absolutely Blue, Essence colour & go Oh my Glitter! and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Cherry, Cherry, Bang, Bang! Excuse the messy cuticles, I didn’t clean them up yet since I still had to add the texture.
I taped them up like this:
And then I went crazy with some texture! I used OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sand in Can’t Let Go.
I have seen similar nails on a couple of other blogs, but I think they used a single colour beneath and then created a textured gradient. The gradient is much more subtle in this case since the texture covers most of it, but I still liked this look.
It’s really great for me to see textures being used for nail art. I love them and this makes them so much more versatile!
Tomorrow is black and white nails and I’ll be showing my blog’s first water marble 🙂
And be sure to take a look at what the other ladies have done:
