September Tri-polish challenge Day 1

Hello again ladies!

What’s this? 2 posts in one day? Well, you may have thought posting every day for 31 days was enough for me, but you were clearly mistaken! Truth is, I’ve been waiting to do a tri-polish challenge since I started the blog almost a month ago, and I already had my first September mani done before I even decided to do the 31 day challenge, so now I’ve ended up doing both.

flowersThe tri-polish challenge is a fun monthly challenge open to everyone and hosted by The Crumpet on Crumpet’s Nail Tarts. Each month, 3 colours are selected, and the idea is that you choose a polish for each colour, and sticking to those colours, create 4 different manicures (you may add black, white and glitter as well).

This month’s colours were lilac, pink and blue, and the colours I chose were: for pink: Tip Top Nail Chic – Pot-O-Berries, for the blue: Tip Top Nail Chic- Blue meets Green (yes, I know, both in name and in colour it’s more a teal than a blue, but it’s still within the blue FAMILY), and for lilac: Essence Colour & Go – Absolutely Blue (more blue – does that make up for using Blue meets Green?) For this mani I also used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in White On.

flowers1I was inspired by the pIcture pOlish Blogfest mani done by Nails by Arvonka for this, and I did something very similar with different colours and a few other changes. I started off with Absolutely Blue, which you can see on its own here:

I then used a striping brush to create stripes with Blue meets Green and Pot-O-Berries.

I used a big dotting tool to create white dots on my index and pinkie fingers, and a small one for my middle finger, then went over with slightly smaller dots in different colours. I did the flowers with a small brush and a dotting tool for the centres.

I really enjoyed creating this, I hope you like it as much as I did! On Thursday I’ll have my second Tri-polish mani. At the link you can see the other manicures that have been done for today:
