Tri-Polish Challenge – September part 3

Hi everyone!

It’s the third day for the September Tri-Polish challenge, and today I’ve done a water marble! You can see my first two Tri-Polish posts for the month here and here.

marble3Just to refresh your memory, the polishes I’ve chosen for this month are Tip Top Nail Chic Pot-O-Berries and Blue meets Green, and Essence Colour & Go Absolutely Blue. For this one, I also used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out.

marble2I started off with a sponged gradient of Blue Meets Green, Absolutely Blue, and Pot-O-Berries. Once it was dry, I marbled over it with Black Out and a clear polish. I firstly tried using my base coat (Tip Top toughen up maxi growth base coat), but it really didn’t want to work for the marbling, so I switched to my top coat (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri). That worked better, but I still really struggled with the marble having a strange texture. It was extremely goopy and I struggled to form any pattern with it. Not that I can form patterns with non-gloopy marbles, either!

marble1Nonetheless, I really like the effect of this type of water marble and I loved how this turned out.

I hope you liked this! The final Tri-Polish mani will be up on Thursday 🙂
