I made it! It’s the final day of the 31 day challenge and I DID it! 😀 Posting every day takes more time than you may think, so I’m pretty proud of myself 😀
Today’s prompt is to honour nails I love, and it was just about impossible to choose just one thing to do for today. However, there was one design I just kept coming back to as I was deciding. It’s not from within the challenge, but I’ve had a picture saved for weeks, waiting for a chance to try it. And here it is:
This look was inspired by a design by Pinpoint Polish. She did these nails for the piCture pOlish blogfest. I just love them! I didn’t get mine looking as smooth and finished as hers but I was pretty proud of them nonetheless.
I followed the steps she did fairly closely and stuck to similar colours, although the specific polishes I used were different. I started off with a coat of Nails Inc Cambridge Terrace, and once it was dry I did a gradient using Cambridge Terrance and a dark blue Depend Magnetic polish. It doesn’t have a name and I am not certain which number it is, but it might be 6004.
I then did a matte top coat on all except my ring finger, on which I did my usual shiny top coat. Once it was dry, I marked off triangles using striping tape and filled them using Cambridge Terrace, and Tip Top Rikki Brest – I Luv Denim (which is a polish duo with a light and dark blue). I marked off the triangles one at a time until all 3 colours were used on each finger. Finally, I placed studs from Bundle Monster on my ring finger.
Even though this didn’t look as smooth and perfect as Pinpoint Polish’s, I really loved the look 🙂 What do you think of this type of nail art?
