It’s no secret that I love textured polishes. I also love using striping tape since it has endless possibilities… Today I got to use them both! I also have some exciting news at the end of the post 🙂
I started off with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out, then taped up my fingers. Somehow I didn’t manage to get the tape at the right angle on my index finger, but hey, I still like it. I then sponged on a gradient of OPI liquid sands in Stay the Night from the Mariah Carey collection and Solitaire from the Bond Girls collection.
Because I was a little too impatient you can see how my striping tape pulled up the polish slightly on my thumb and middle finger. I could have probably fixed that, but honestly, it wasn’t that noticeable in reality. I got the idea for the pattern I used here with the accent nail from this post by Gnarly Gnails – although I’ve posted something similar in the past too 🙂
Sponging on the textured polishes really brought out the red glitter from Stay the Night. It’s red glitter in a black base, but the red is the main thing that comes out for this mani. I hope you like these nails as much as I do!
Sugar Coats from Sally Hansen! Honestly, I didn’t even think we were going to get these in South Africa. I was so excited when I saw them, and I scooped up 6 of the colours right away. I spent the weekend swatching away, so I’ll show them off on Wednesday 😀
