It’s day 10 of the challenge and today’s theme is night sky. I think I have my third win in a row here! I do apologise for the fluff on my pinkie though – I didn’t notice it until it was too late.
I love the blue colour of the night sky where I stay near Cape Town. I recently visited my family in Pretoria where I grew up and I noticed the night sky there is much greyer, so the deep blue colour we get in the cape is really something special. So what would I use but blues to represent the night sky?I started with a base of Essence Twilight Breaking Dawn – Jacob’s protection and then I used tiny pieces of sponge to sponge on Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Kissy, Blue By You, and Midnight Blue, along with Nubar Absolute and NYX Matte Sky Blue. I intended to create galaxy nails but I over sponged a bit and went past the point of galaxies. That doesn’t matter though – I loved this base! It was such a beautiful combination of shades which gave a lot of depth. I especially liked the holo from Absolute, like distant glimmering stars.
Sometimes I think using decals or stickers is kind of an easy way out, but while I was wearing this, I realised they’re not a ‘way out’ at all. Yes, they might be easier than freehand or stamping, but there’s nothing wrong with that! They make for some amazing nail art, and that’s what this blog is all about! I hope you liked these nails too. My boyfriend said these are some of the coolest nails I’ve ever done, so at least I had his approval 🙂For the second time this week, I also have a nail fail to show you. I originally wanted to do Van Gogh’s Starry Starry Night on my nails for this theme, and this was the result…
