Today’s theme for the Nail Art A-Go-Go Challenge is animation. I had a million ideas for this theme because there are so many great animations, but in the end the one I went with is quite a stretch of the theme… but I liked it anyway!
Any guesses what animation this could represent? One of the animations I really wanted to do on my nails was The Little Mermaid, both because the type of characters in it are ideal for nail art, and because I loved the movie as a child. However, after I put on my base coat of Sally Hansen Fairy Teal, I honestly didn’t feel like doing freehand nail art. Originally I was planning on doing glitter placement on 2 nails with Aerial, Flounder and Sebastian on the other three. I wanted to incorporate glitter placement because whenever I see it it just makes me think of mermaids! I started with the glitter on my thumbnail and then I liked it so much I ended up doing it on all my nails. I know it might be a bit of a ‘cheat’ for the theme, but it really does make me think of mermaids! My placement isn’t perfect – especially at the tips of my nails – but I think I did a pretty good job for my first try at glitter placement! All the pictures I’ve shown so far were taken in my lightbox, so now you get a huge bonus for reading this far… non-lightbox pictures! I had to include a few because the sparkle of the glitter pieces is incredible. See??! It was like a glorious colour-fest on my nails! I hope you can also see at least a little bit of the mermaid-iness of this! What do you think of my first attempt at glitter placement?
