Nail Art A Go-Go Challenge Day 6: Neon

Hi everyone! It’s day 6 of the Nail Art A Go-Go challenge hosted by Gnarly Gnails and today’s theme is neon. Now, I have a confession to make. Before I got into nail polish and nail art, I really didn’t like neon nail polish. I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t – and now I love it, of course πŸ™‚nimbus-nails-sinful-colors-snow-me-white-tip-top-nail-chic-walking-on-sunshine-cyan-can-can-grape-dance-as-the-beat-grows-on-get-the-party-started-salsa-popToday I decided to try out the Nimbus technique made popular by The Nailasaurus. Basically, you dip an earbud/cotton bud/q-tip in acetone or nail polish remover and use that to apply dots of the different polishes. nimbus-nails-sinful-colors-snow-me-white-tip-top-nail-chic-walking-on-sunshine-cyan-can-can-grape-dance-as-the-beat-grows-on-get-the-party-started-salsa-popI started with 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base, and then I used the nimbus technique to apply all 6 of the new neons recently released by Tip Top Nails: Walking On Sunshine, Cyan Can-Can, Grape Dance, As the Beat Grows On, Get the Party Started, and Salsa Pop. nimbus-nails-sinful-colors-snow-me-white-tip-top-nail-chic-walking-on-sunshine-cyan-can-can-grape-dance-as-the-beat-grows-on-get-the-party-started-salsa-popEven though I love the bright colours, I wasn’t sure if this mani was a success until my boyfriend leaned over and said ‘Oh wow, it’s like a field of flowers!’ I wasn’t particularly going for flowers, but I’ll definitely count that as a success! nimbus-nails-sinful-colors-snow-me-white-tip-top-nail-chic-walking-on-sunshine-cyan-can-can-grape-dance-as-the-beat-grows-on-get-the-party-started-salsa-popThis was my first time trying the nimbus technique, and it was a lot of fun. It’s an easy technique to do with great results! I also just love how the 6 neons work so well together πŸ™‚nimbus-nails-sinful-colors-snow-me-white-tip-top-nail-chic-walking-on-sunshine-cyan-can-can-grape-dance-as-the-beat-grows-on-get-the-party-started-salsa-popHere are the rest of the themes for the challenge: nagg-igI’m really happy with what I thought up for tomorrow’s primary theme, so be sure to come check it out πŸ™‚ Don’t forget to take a look at what the other ladies have done at the link:
