Fancy French

Hi everyone!

Today I have something quite different to my usual designs for you. As far as I can remember, I’ve never shown French nails on my blog. In general, I’m not the biggest fan of them, although I do like them in alternative colours. Today I decided to try an idea I had floating around for a while – French nails made using rhinestones instead of a second colour. rhine 5Of course, this look isn’t very practical, but it is pretty! I wouldn’t recommend this for longer than an evening – and even then you might start losing rhinestones since they’ll get bumped more being on the tips of your nails. rhine 6

I don’t own a lot of Essie polishes since they’re on the pricey side, but when I saw For the Twill of It the other day I just had to pick it up. I’ve been wanting this polish since the first swatches I saw of it, and it’s just the kind of shade I’ve always loved – since long before I got into nail art! rhine

In some lighting conditions it appears brownish – as you see on many of the photos – but take a closer look and it’s really flashing between purple and green! I just love this colour and if I’d had it as a teenager it’d probably have been on my nails every weekend. rhine1

This is far from a traditional French nail but it is the kind I can get behind! I hope you like it too!rhine 3
