Hi everyone!
Today’s theme in the Neverending Pile Challenge is your ugliest polish. Again, I had trouble choosing because I didn’t really find any of them that ugly. In the end I chose this one because the base is a pretty traditionally ‘ugly’ colour so I thought it’d be appropriate. The polish I used was KR Yogurt Series #003, from the Born Pretty Store. I was concerned that the jelly base might not build up to opacity well so I started with a base coat of Tip Top We Have An Agreen Mint, but that probably wasn’t necessary in the end. I added 4 coats of the KR polish, but 2 would have probably already been fine with the base colour below it – I just kept going because I really wanted to get a lot of the glitter.
Despite this being a stereotypically ‘ugly’ colour, I really like it, and I think the colours of the glitter work really well with it too.
I think this polish is almost like a pond mani in a bottle – the colour is like a algae-filled pond and the glitter adds leaves and flowers floating inside it.
I decided this pond-like base was perfect for some frog nail art!
A couple of weeks ago, I saw this adorable frog nail art on Lucy’s Stash and I knew I wanted to try recreate it. Mine didn’t come out as great as hers, but I think it’s at least a recognisable frog!
I followed the pictorial Lucie had on her post and used acrylic paint to paint the frog.
I love frogs! There are some frogs living in an open patch of land next to my boyfriend’s flat and their croaking is always soothing. What do you think of my little frog?
