Day 28 of the 31 Day Challenge: Flag

Hi everyone!

Today is definitely my least favourite day of the challenge this year! I did these nails in a rush as I didn’t have a lot of time today and ‘inspired by a flag’ is anyway not the most exciting of prompts. These nails would probably never have been on my blog if I wasn’t determined to finish the challenge! Painted Fingertips | Nails inspired by the Irish flag for day 28 of the #31DC2014I decided to go with the Irish flag since I have some Irish ancestry. The flag is actually supposed to have the green on the left, so it’s the wrong way around here (except for my thumb). I tried so make one of the colours on each nail textured, but it didn’t work that great – the white just looks a bit like a bad polish job. Like I said, I did these in a hurry, and I really don’t love them, but they are at least done. Painted Fingertips | Nails inspired by the Irish flag for day 28 of the #31DC2014I started with a base of Sally Hansen White On then added the green and orange with Essence Upper Green Side and Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Lava. I added the texture using Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Sugar Fix and Sour Apple and Revolution Diamond.

Last year I was more patriotic and did the South African flag:

flag1I think this is the only time in this challenge I’ve preferred last year’s nails! I do like our South African flag though 🙂 What do you think of my attempt for this year?Painted Fingertips | Nails inspired by the Irish flag for day 28 of the #31DC2014Just 3 days left in the challenge!
