Nails inspired by a Notebook: 31 Day Challenge Day 6 – Violet

Hi everyone!

I have been dying to show you today’s nails because I am SO happy with them. I had a lovely notebook which I was given as a gift lying next to my bed and one day I realised the patterns on the notebook would be perfect for nail art. It was perfect for today’s theme:Painted Fingertips | 31 Day Challenge Day 6 - VioletFor some reason, my skin looks strange in all the photos I took. I’m not sure what happened but I am just going to overlook it because I LOVE this nail art, and it took ages to create. Here is the notebook which inspired it: Painted Fingertips | 31 Day Challenge Day 6 - VioletIsn’t it pretty? I loved both the designs and the colour so of course I needed to translate it into nail art. Painted Fingertips | 31 Day Challenge Day 6 - VioletI started with a base of Tip Top Surfer Girl. Once it was dry, I added the designs using white acrylic paints and a very fine nail art brush. Painted Fingertips | 31 Day Challenge Day 6 - VioletI am very happy with how this came out and the amount of detail I managed to achieve. A couple of weeks ago I did some freehand silver swirls using polish instead of acrylics, and when it didn’t work great I told you I’d be trying some detailed nail art again but using acrylics this time. I think we can all agree it went better this time around!

Last year I did some criss-cross textured nail art for the violet theme. I had a lot of fun using my then-new textured polish! šŸ™‚textire5Here are this year’s nails and their notebook inspiration:
