Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is stripes. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for this one so I looked around for some inspiration and soon came across this post by Work Play Polish. I loved how it looked so I decided to try it for myself. Honestly, I loved this mani so much that I didn’t even want to take it off. I’ve done many tape and stripe nails before, including pinstripes, tape and studs, negative space nails, and tape with texture and neons. There are so many possibilities, but I am really glad I decided to go with this look. I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White. Once it was completely dry, I added pieces of striping tape different widths apart, leaving a bigger gap on each nail for the coloured stripe. I added a coloured stripe using either Essie In the Cab-ana or Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, then filled in the remaining gaps using either Rimmel Man Overboard or Sally Hansen Black on Black. I peeled off the tape, corrected a couple of mistakes, and top coated. Voila!Last year I did a striped gradient in shades of blue.
