Red and Green Needle Drag Swirl

Hi everyone!

Today I’m back with another Christmas nail art for the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge being run over at Challenge Your Nail Art. Today’s theme is red and green. I have been seeing a lot of needle drag nail art around lately and I decided to give it another try myself. I have tried a pink needle drag and a orange, yellow and green needle drag in the past. Painted Fingertips | Red and green Christmas needle dragI really liked this swirly pattern and it is very easy to create! In red and green it’s perfect for Christmas, and by using different colour schemes this could be a simple nail art look for any occasion. Painted Fingertips | Red and green Christmas needle dragTo create this, I started with a base of Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar and then roughly painted a diagonal half of each nail with Revlon Charlie Daring. Once it was dry, I painted over each half with the opposite colour and then swirled through the wet polish with a toothpick. I top coated and that was it! Painted Fingertips | Red and green Christmas needle dragI really liked this and I am going to have to try it in some other colour combinations soon! What do you think?12_days_of_christmasTake a look at some more red and green nails at the link:

I love the idea of needle drag as it all looks so cool. But whenever I attempt it, it just goes horribly horribly wrong. Love the colour combo!

    • paintedfingertips

Oh no! I don’t think its that difficult so I’m sure you can get it right still. Sometimes the bottom layer of polish does get ruined though which looks a bit weird!

A Christmas vortex, I love it!

    • paintedfingertips

Oh yes! A vortex makes it sound so much more dramatic! 🙂
