Today I have a swatch to share with you. A reader requested to see this polish after looking at my stash page, so if you see anything on there you’d like to see swatched or know more about, please let me know!
This is Sinful Colors Opal Glitter. I wanted to show you how it looks over a variety of base colours, so I have used a different base on each nail and then topped them all with Opal Glitter. Starting from my thumb, I used Tip Top Breath of Fresh Air, ILNP Birefringence (H), Tip Top Kingfisher, Essence Roller Coaster, and Tip Top Baby Cheeks. I have topped them all with just a single coat of Opal Glitter.
Not surprisingly, it is the most dramatic over the dark blue base. It really comes to life over a dark base and it’s gorgeous. You can also see how lovely it looks over lighter shades. Although you can’t see the glitter over the nude much in the pictures, it looked very pretty. I loved that that could be a safe for work way of wearing this glitter – at a glance it looks like a simple nude nail but when you look closer it’s lovely and sparkly. Here is a slightly out-of-focus shot to show just how gorgeously sparkly it is:
Remember that’s just one coat! Formula-wise, it was easy to apply and I pretty much applied it like a normal polish although I was extra careful with it. I have used Opal Glitter in the past for this jewel-toned nail art, over these pond nails, over these bright 80s nails, for some galaxy nails, and over a delicate gradient.
Overall: I love this polish. It has a good formula, it’s packed with glitter, and it is a very versatile topper.
