Some items in this post have been provided for review.
It’s been a little longer than usual since my last post but I’m back with another review for you today! Things have been really busy around here lately and to top it all off, I’ve been sick the past couple of days. I’ve finally managed to get a post done for you though so let’s take a look.
I recently received a few items from the Born Pretty Store for review. One of them was a stamping plate:
This is a picture showing the patterns on the plate (image taken from the Born Pretty Store website). I just love all of these images and couldn’t decide which to try first!Eventually, I went with this one. I started off with a base of Revlon Parfumerie Bordeaux and then stamped with plate BP-17 and Tip Top Gold Mine. I love how ornate this looks and the image just told me to choose red and gold! My stamping might not be perfect, but the plate is great. I just need more practice! This was my second time using the stamper from BPS that I reviewed the other day. I wanted to show you more than one image from the plate so this is what I did next: I went for a very dark look with a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black and stamping using ILNP Mutagen (H) and Cygnus Loop (H). As you can see I used the top left image from the plate here. I wanted to use the top right image on a few of the nails but I couldn’t get it to work. I don’t think it’s necessarily an issue with the plate as there are some very fine lines on the image. They all seemed to be engraved well but try as I might, I couldn’t get the stamper to pick up without having a gap in the image somewhere. I haven’t given up on it and I’ll try that image again with different polishes sometime. Hopefully if I improve my stamping skills I will manage to make that one work!I love the way my thumb looks on this one!
Overall: I love every image on this plate and think they can make for some great manicures! Fine lines can be an issue if you’re not a great stamper, but I managed with these 2 images fine (I didn’t try the fourth one yet). If you’d like to purchase this plate, you can check it out here and for any BPS purchases don’t forget to use the code KGG10 for 10% off!
