Water Marble Wednesday: Boiled Sweets

Painted Fingertips | Boiled sweets textured water marble

Hi everyone!

It’s Wednesday and you probably know by now that means a water marble! Today I’ve tried something different by creating a textured water marble which reminds me of boiled sweets I had when I was a kid. Painted Fingertips | Boiled sweets textured water marbleI started with a base of Essence Be My Lucky Star. Once that was dry, I pulled out a few sheer, shimmery polishes to marble with. I marbled using Rimmel Cocktail Colour Apple Berry Smoothie, Sinful Colors Courtney Orange, and Revlon Apple-tini Fizz. Painted Fingertips | Boiled sweets textured water marbleThis is one time it works to use sheer polishes for a water marble! You could still see the silvery colour of the textured base but the colours showed up clearly too. Painted Fingertips | Boiled sweets textured water marbleIn general I probably prefer a more vibrant marble but I loved this for something different and more unique! I really love how the blue came out in this marble. Those lines are really special, I wouldn’t know how to describe it but it’s looking great!

I love how you did this. What a great idea. I would have never thought of doing that. I mean, it’s not like I do a ton of water marbles but brilliant!

I think this is so beautiful! And impressive that you were able to marble using textured polishes! I would have thought that textureds would be very difficult considering they usually dry so quickly!

I didn’t actually marble with textured polishes, I just used one as a base then marbled over it! I’ve never tried marbling with textures but I’d imagine the result wouldn’t be properly textured.

Ahhh that makes so much more sense! Lol

I think this is a great idea! I’m not very good at water marbles but I think doing it over a texture could be a good idea for me, because it would hide some of my imperfections!

Whenever I have a flop marble, I just pretend it was supposed to look that way 🙂
