31DC2015 Day 1: Red!

Hi everyone!

As I mentioned in my recent 2 year blogiversary post, I won’t be able to finish all for the prompts for this year’s 31 Day Challenge. I didn’t want to miss out completely though, so I am taking part in a few of the prompts, starting off with the very first one: red! Painted Fingertips | Red one-stroke flowersI decided to go with some one-stroke red and white flowers over a deep red base. For my base I used Revolution Russian Winiter. I was amazed at how shiny this polish went on! I think it’s just a tiny bit jelly-ish which makes it super shiny. Painted Fingertips | Red one-stroke flowersI used red and white acrylic paint for the flower petals, then outlined them in black and added a few white dots in the centre. Painted Fingertips | Red one-stroke flowersI think I could use some more practice with this technique, but I’m still really happy with the way the flowers came out! It’s overall a very pretty and fun nail art look. Painted Fingertips | Red one-stroke flowersWhat do you think?

In previous years, I’ve done a tape mani and red rubies for this prompt. Which is your favourite look? I liked the rubies but I think I might just like these flowers best!

In case you’re interested, here’s how the schedule looks for the rest of the challenge. I won’t be taking part in every theme, but a lot of other bloggers and nail artists will! Enjoy!
