Despite the more limited time I have for nails now, I’ve decided to join in on a low-key group linkup. Some ladies are taking part every week but I’ve decided to aim for once every two weeks. Every second friday, you’ll be seeing a different nail art theme and not only will I share my own nails, but there’ll be a linkup at the bottom of the page for you to see more ideas on the theme. Today’s theme was hobbies and for me, that could only go one way. I am barely getting time to do my nails, when would I fit in another hobby at the moment? So, I did nail art about nail art!
I’m still struggling with my lighting but hopefully it’ll get sorted out eventually. I promise, these looked better in real life! I knew I wanted to do little polish bottles on my nails and I turned to this post on Will Paint Nails For Food for inspiration.
I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and then used very diluted colours to sponge on the background. The background polishes were Tip Top Hap-Pea, OPI Hot & Spicy, and China Glaze Tart-y for the Party. I topped them with a coat of Sinful Colors Opal Glitter, although that hasn’t really come through on the pictures.
Next, I used black acrylic paint to outline the bottles and did the lettering on my thumbnail. I filled the 4 bottles with Essence Happy End and Breakthrough, and Sinful Colors Innocent and Fly Away.
Aren’t they cute?
