I’m sure some of the other ladies taking part in today’s prompt have come up with amazing nails! I can’t wait to go and take a look – their links are at the bottom of this post if you can’t either!
The nails I am sharing with you today are actually what I wore for Halloween. It was my first Halloween in the US and I wanted to dress up but didn’t have anything to make a costume from. I did have my basic makeup collection though, so I decided to go as a Pop Art Cartoon girl, and with nails to match! I’ve also included a picture of my makeup from the night, so stay with me 🙂These certainly fit in with my theme so they were good enough, but I was a little disappointed that the BANG and POW! didn’t come out brighter. I ended up using nail wraps and silly me, I forgot to check which brand they were from (I should still have the pack – I’ll have to go check!). I had a field trip on this day and got home pretty tired and still needed to get ready so the wraps seemed like a better option. They were certainly faster than doing the dots myself. They weren’t too bad to apply, but as you can see, I did have a little wrinkling. I think like most things, a little practice will make that better. I only had a chance to take these photos 2 days later and you can see how the wraps already show quite a bit of tip wear. I’d hoped they would last longer since longevity is one of the draws of wraps for me. Oh well – at least they did what they needed to for Halloween. I made the BANG and POW! Stamping decals using Moyou Pro Collection #10. I used a black and blue stamping polish and Color Club Ruby Slippers and Tip Top Gold Digger. So there you have it, quick and perfect for the costume. They’re also perfect for your generic ‘comic’ nail art – no specific comic but just the idea of the Roy Lichtenstein-style comic book art. If you’ve stayed with me till now… here’s how I looked on the night! This picture was taken after I already got home so I’m not looking perfect, but you can get the idea! And if, like my husband did, you’re wondering why I look so worried – It’s because I painted my eyebrows that way!
