I’ve taken part in the Hobby Polish Bloggers themed linkups a couple of times before and this time the theme is Monochromatic. HPB is a great group for anyone who blogs nails so I highly encourage you to check it out if you’re a blogger! When I did this nail design last week I hadn’t particularly had the theme in mind, but luckily, it works for the theme anyway.
I was inspired by this post by Wondrously Polished, which I’ve had pinned for ages. When I looked through my Pinterest board and saw it again I had to recreate it right away. I made some changes to the pattern on a couple of nails and thought up my own pattern for my thumbnail to fit in with the theme.
Monochromatic usually means shades of one colour as opposed to just black and white, and technically, this manicure does contain a very dark purple. I was out of black polish so I used Essence Prom-Berry for the dark base. For the white base, I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I used black and white acrylic paints and my fine nail art brush to paint the pattern.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love painting this type of patterned nail art. I think this might be my favourite type of nail art to do. Freehand but just with a couple of colours in a pretty pattern.
I was really happy with how these came out and couldn’t wait to share them with you. What do you think?
