I have a couple more pictures than usual today but I think you’ll agree, it’s worth it! Besides, today is my birthday and I can show you as many pictures as I want! That’s also how I’m getting away with using this one nail art for two different things – this is both for the Christmas theme in my Crumpets Nail Tarts collaborative challenge, AND for the holiday/winter theme being done by the Hobby Polish Bloggers group today. Maybe that’s why I had to make these nails so great 😉
Snowmen should have a merry Christmas, too! I was so happy with how these turned out, they ended up being my favourite nails I’ve done in a while! Which is especially amazing considering that I really had trouble deciding on something to do for these.
I kept thinking of traditional Christmassy red and gold ideas, and there was nothing that inspired me. Eventually I decided to change the colours up and went for a blue base instead. I started with a coat of Sinful Colors Gorgeous just to make sure there weren’t any bare spots and then added about 4 coats of Sinful Colors After Party to really get some glittering nails.
I firstly added the snowflake on my thumbnail using Tip Top Armourplate. This really made me realise how much easier it is to work with acrylic paints for freehand art! I just can’t get the same thin lines with polish. The only other polish I used was for the gold ribbon on the present, which used Tip Top Gold Mine. All the rest was done using acrylic paints.
Now what do you think could be wrapped in that gift for Baby Snowman? I suspect it’s a carrot for his nose!
I couldn’t resist adding a couple of close-ups, just so you could see how very glittery this was!
I loved this nail art – I hope you do too! Check out the links below for both Christmas looks from the others from Crumpet’s Nail Tarts, and Holiday/Winter looks from the other Hobby Polish Bloggers!
