HPB Presents: Snowmen at Christmas AND 40 great nail art ideas for Christmas!

Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas

Hi everyone!

I have a couple more pictures than usual today but I think you’ll agree, it’s worth it! Besides, today is my birthday and I can show you as many pictures as I want! That’s also how I’m getting away with using this one nail art for two different things – this is both for the Christmas theme in my Crumpets Nail Tarts collaborative challenge, AND for the holiday/winter theme being done by the Hobby Polish Bloggers group today. Maybe that’s why I had to make these nails so great 😉Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas

Snowmen should have a merry Christmas, too! I was so happy with how these turned out, they ended up being my favourite nails I’ve done in a while! Which is especially amazing considering that I really had trouble deciding on something to do for these. Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas

I kept thinking of traditional Christmassy red and gold ideas, and there was nothing that inspired me. Eventually I decided to change the colours up and went for a blue base instead. I started with a coat of Sinful Colors Gorgeous just to make sure there weren’t any bare spots and then added about 4 coats of Sinful Colors After Party to really get some glittering nails. Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas

I firstly added the snowflake on my thumbnail using Tip Top Armourplate. This really made me realise how much easier it is to work with acrylic paints for freehand art! I just can’t get the same thin lines with polish. The only other polish I used was for the gold ribbon on the present, which used Tip Top Gold Mine. All the rest was done using acrylic paints. Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas

Now what do you think could be wrapped in that gift for Baby Snowman? I suspect it’s a carrot for his nose! Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas - snowman macro

I couldn’t resist adding a couple of close-ups, just so you could see how very glittery this was! Painted Fingertips | A family of snowmen at Christmas - tree macro

I loved this nail art – I hope you do too! Check out the links below for both Christmas looks from the others from Crumpet’s Nail Tarts, and Holiday/Winter looks from the other Hobby Polish Bloggers!
