Happy New Year – and Sparkling Stamping

Painted Fingertips | Stamped silver nail foils

Hi everyone!

Happy New Year! I hope 2016 will be a happy and successful year for us all. To start it off, I have some silver, sparkly, stamped nails to share with you. I actually thought these would be great to wear to celebrate the turn of the year, but I didn’t get a chance to post them last week so let’s celebrate the first of January with them instead! I started with a base of Essence Grey-t To Be Here, thinking that would help me avoid bald spots, but it didn’t work very well. I used some nail foils I have from the Born Pretty Store (reviewed here) and, because I don’t have foil glue, I just used the polish while it was tacky. When doing that, it’s difficult to know just the right time to start sticking the foil – wait too long and the polish is too dry and none sticks; go too early and it’ll partially pull up the polish and you end up with bald spots. You can see how that happened with me a little. I think it’d work better with the glue, but honestly, I’m not all that phased. With the stamping over it, nobody glancing at your nails would notice the bald spots – only when you look at them this closely do you see them and even then, I still like the overall look. I stamped over the foil using several images from plate BP-L 008 (reviewed here). This is one of my favourite stamping plates with beautiful, ornate images. Painted Fingertips | Stamped silver nail foils

Here’s to another great year of nail art!
