Today’s theme in the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas group challenge is ‘things that fly’. My first ideas were butterflies and bees, then I considered birds, or planes, and finally I decided on SUPERMAN!
I had considered a silhouette of Superman flying over a city skyline across my nails, but I am really glad I went with the simple distressed nail art in the end. The colours looked amazing and bright together, and it was a really fun nail art to wear.
I freehanded the Superman logo on my thumbnail. I used a base of Nails Inc Baker Street, and then used acrylic paints for the logo. I was very happy with how it came out, you only see the imperfections when you look at it this closely!
On the rest of my nails, I started with a base of Nails Inc Baker Street and then added Tip Top Gold Mine and Rimmel Hawaiian Punch to create a distressed look. I loved how these three worked together!
Sadly, the day ended in tragedy. As I went to photograph these nails, my bottle of Baker Street fell a very short distance, only about 5 cm, and the neck snapped off. Not even Superman could save it! This was my first polish casualty and it was very disappointing. I remember how excited I was to own Baker Street since it was something of a nail polish celebrity! Ah, well. At least I got one last good nail art out of it!
