Painted Fingertips | Eyeshadow Nail Art

Hi everyone!

I have something different to share with you today – a new technique! Today I have used eyeshadow on my nails to create a galaxy-like nail art. Painted Fingertips | Eyeshadow Nail Art

I saw eyeshadow being used in nail art a LONG time ago – before I even started blogging, I think – and there is no way I can remember where. It stuck with me though, in the back of my mind, and I finally got around to trying it. Painted Fingertips | Eyeshadow Nail Art

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I then started with the only loose pigment eyeshadow I have, a purple one, and used a brush to gently drop patches of the eyeshadow onto my nails. Next, I added some loose opalescent glitter. I decided I didn’t have enough colour so I added some green eyeshadow – this was harder since I didn’t have a loose pigment, but I got it to work. Finally, I topcoated and I was done. My main observation about this method is that it’d be tough to control your final look. the eyeshadow moved a LOT when I topcoated it, because some of it was loose and not sticking to the polish below. I didn’t mind because I didn’t have a particular pattern in mind and I liked how it looked in the end! I think it would have been even better if the glitter were a little finer. Still though, it came out looking a little like galaxy nail art and given how much I’ve struggled with galaxies in the past, I might just use this method in future! What do you think?
