Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

Painted Fingertips | Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

Hi everyone!

I have a swatch to share with you today. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago and today I had to share them with you because, just a couple of weeks after the tragedy of my first broken nail polish, my second one broke. I no longer have this gorgeous red so this is its last goodbye. I came home to find my husband scrubbing the floor with my nail polish remover… our cat had decided a few polish bottles belonged on the floor and sadly this one didn’t make it.

Ah, well – at least we still have pictures to enjoy! Painted Fingertips | Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

This is 2 coats of Color Club Ruby Slippers, shown here with top coat. This polish consists of a beautiful red base packed with red glitter. It is bright and blingy and red as red can be. I’ve always seen this as a perfect Christmassy colour. Painted Fingertips | Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

I found the formula to be a little thick, but it wasn’t difficult to work with. In fact it goes on beautifully but it does take a little more care. I also noticed a slightly stronger smell compared to my other nail polishes, but that didn’t bother me personally. This was my only Color Club so I’m not sure if that’s just this polish or if the brand uses a different base or something. Because it is so packed with glitter, this polish applies with a very slightly gritty surface. You might need a second coat of top coat if you prefer your nails to be absolutely smooth. Painted Fingertips | Swatch: Color Club Ruby Slippers

Overall, it’s a gorgeous polish, and I’m sorry to say goodbye to it! What do you think?
