I have a swatch of a lovely polish to share with you today. I won this polish in a giveaway on Imperfectly Painted, and I was over the moon to get some nail mail! It’s been too long since I got to play with a new polish!
This is two coats, with top coat, of Silly Bee’s Chickadees Steph’s Sugar Plum Suite. It was my first experience with this brand and I really liked the unique bottle shape. I did find the brush took a little getting used to – it was longer than brushes from other polishes that I’m more used to, which meant it held more polish. At first I had to be extra careful, but once I started getting used to the longer brush I really liked it and I found it helped me to distribute the polish over my nail better. The formula of the polish was great and I had no trouble with the glitters – they were well distributed over each nail with no fishing or dabbing needed. The polish consists of a light pink crelly base filled with different sizes of magenta glitters.
I wasn’t sure how much I would like this polish since I’m not usually the biggest fan of pink polishes. I was excited though because I don’t have many glitter crellies. As I started applying the polish, I liked it but I still wasn’t sure I loved it. Then once I was done I got up and moved to a better lit part of my apartment… and magic happened. In brighter lighting the glitters really came out and made this polish shine. It’s lovely and I’m sure I’ll be using it for some pretty nail art too.
What’s extra special about this polish is that it was created together with Steph of Imperfectly Painted. Steph is a mainstay of the nail blogging world and has one of the best blogs to go to for honest, true-to-life swatches and comprehensive polish reviews. This is part of a charity collection and $2 from each bottle sold goes to support the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. If you love it, you can buy it here.
What do you think? Do you like crellies? I’m not seeing quite as many new ones as a year or so ago, but I still have so few in my personal collection that they’re very exciting for me!
