Before I show you today’s nail art, I wanted to let you know that I’ve joined Snapchat! My snapcode is in the sidebar or you can add me by my name, kerryfingertips. I’m still playing around with it and seeing if I like it, but part of that depends on you, too. Even though I do my nails for me, when it comes to social media, it’s more enjoyable to share in ways that YOU like to see and that you respond to. So go ahead and add me, and let me know what you’d like to see! I’m going to make my Snapchat a fun way to see some different things that are harder to show on other platforms. I’ll show you what I’m busy with as I’m painting my nails, step by step – so you’ll see what goes into it and you’ll see what I’m doing before it appears on the blog. Hopefully I’ll also do some snaps that are more about me so if you have any questions, snap me and let me know what you’d like to see!
Now, on to the nails! It’s time for another 5 minute nail art look. If you haven’t seen one of these before, you can go check out my first #5minutenailart post for an explanation of what it’s all about.
Today I did some quick distressed nail art. I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Innocent and once it was dry, I set my timer and had my 5 minutes to create art.
I dry-brushed on two different polishes to create the distressed look. First I used Essie Pretty Edgy and then Tip Top Gold Mine. This was really quick and I even had time to add my top coat.
Not only is this already some fun nail art, but it’s also a great base for stamping. So you could start off with a plain colour on day 1, add the other colours for the distressed look on day 2, and add some stamping over it on day 3. You have a brand new-looking manicure each day but it’s far quicker than doing your nails from scratch!
What do you think of this look?
