Blue Triangles – Do-it-yourself Nail Decals

Painted Fingertips | Blue triangle nail polish decals

Hi everyone!

I decided to try a new-to-me technique today that I’ve seen around in a few places. I made some triangular nail polish decals in different shades of blue and put them together to get some fun geometric-looking nail art. Painted Fingertips | Blue triangle nail polish decals

I started off my creating the decals by just painting patches of polish onto a few stamper heads using Sinful Colors Endless Blue and Nail Junkie, Tip Top Turbulence, and LA Girl Brilliant Blue. I waited for them to dry, then peeled them up and cut them into triangles of different sizes. Meanwhile, I painted a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White on my nails. Painted Fingertips | Blue triangle nail polish decals

I mixed up the different coloured decals and applied them to my nails randomly. I think my polish was still just tacky enough to allow me to lightly stick them down. Because some of the decals were a bit thick, I decided to add an extra-thick coat of top coat. Unfortunately, I didn’t quite think that through, and ended up with some bubbles from the top coat! Sigh. Painted Fingertips | Blue triangle nail polish decals

Overall I really liked this look and I’d love to try it with different colour combinations. Next time I’ll just go easier on the top coat, though!

What do you think?
