Green and Gold Water Spotting

Painted Fingertips | Water Spotting Nail Art

Hi everyone!

I was getting a little bored of the same old nail art techniques, so I decided to try something a little different for me. It has been over a year since I did my poison frog water spotting,  so it was definitely time to have some water spotting fun again! Painted Fingertips | Water Spotting Nail Art

I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Innocent. Once it was dry, I spotted first with Sinful Colors Black on Black, then Tip Top Gold MinePainted Fingertips | Water Spotting Nail Art

In case you aren’t familiar with the technique, the idea is to drip some polish onto water, then break it up by spraying it with something containing alcohol or acetone. I’ve heard of people using things like hairspray, but I personally haven’t been able to get that to work. My method of choice is to use an old toothbrush dipped in nail polish remover and spray it over the water. Painted Fingertips | Water Spotting Nail Art

I really liked the random effect and these colours worked so well together! I can’t seem to stop combining green and gold recently. What do you think?
