If you haven’t heard of Roselynn’s blog, Manicured and Marvelous, now is the time to go and check it out. Roselynn has gorgeous nails and does a mix of fantastic nail art and swatches. Unfortunately, she’s been struggling with some health issues recently so the delightful Jessica of Be Happy, Buy Polish pulled a few of us together to do some nail art inspired by Roselynn and brighten her day.
I came across this nail art by Roselynn and decided this was the one for me to create – it’s lovely! It’s a total coincidence that I posted a musical notes mani just last week as well 😛 Silly me, I decided to do these before reading the post and finding out she’d used water decals! I decided to go ahead anyway and just do my best. I didn’t end up with the dreamy blue base and I realised afterwards I should have started with a bluer base. I used a very light grey-blue, Elevation Walk a Little Farther, but I wanted to add some holo so I added 2 coats of Elevation To the Top!, which is a holo top coat. I could have started with a bright blue since the holo would have dulled it down to the pale blue I was looking for! Ah, well.
I used black acrylic paint and my smallest brush to paint the music notes. It may not be perfect, but I really liked the way this came out nonetheless. I also really enjoyed doing some finer freehand again – it feels like forever since I’ve done something like this! It’s definitely inspired me to make some more time for freehand soon.
I finished it off with Sinful Colors Opal Glitter to get some of the sparkle Roselynn’s mani had.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this nail art – pop on over to Manicured & Marvelous and show Roselynn some support. You can also see the other nail art done in her honour at the links below.
