Today I have another post in the ’40 Great Nail Art Ideas’ by Crumpet’s Nail Tarts and today’s theme is floral. I have something extra special to share with you today and I’m excited that you finally get to see it… I did this weeks ago already and I was saving it up for the spring!
That’s right – I’ve done full-on placed microbead nail art again and I LOVE it!
You’re probably wondering how long this took me and you’re right – this is definitely one of the most time-consuming types of nail art I’ve done. I don’t think it takes as long as full glitter placement, though, because it’s easier to move the beads around on your nail. If you still think I’m crazy, well you’re probably not wrong, especially once you realise that it’s not the first time I’ve done placed microbead nails. That’s right, I’ve done this before! I always intended to try it again and it took me a year and a half before I eventually did. I actually like these even better than the original microbead flowers I did. I’m not sure if it’s the way I used the colours, or the fact that these flowers have a more structured look to them, or a little of both. I also like my nail shape a lot better now!
You may notice that even though I switched the colours around a little, I’ve used the same colours as I did the last time. It turns out I only have so many colours 😉 I really wanted to add some red to these, so I may have to get my hands on a few more microbead colours!
There’s not really much to how these are done. I started with a base of Essence Grey-t To Be Here so that I wouldn’t have bare nail peeking out from under the beads. I then dabbed top coat on a little of my nail at a time and placed each bead using a wax rhinestone picker. I placed the rhinestones first and then did the beads more or less from the centre out so I could see how much space I had.
Time-consuming or not, I enjoyed doing this nail art, and I love the result! I hope you do too, let me know what you think in the comments!
What’s the craziest nail art you’ve ever attempted?
