As the old saying goes, for your wedding you always need something gold, something stamped, something patterned and something blue. Wait, am I remembering that right? It doesn’t matter – these nails incorporate all 4 of my version and we all know nails are what a wedding is all about.
Today’s theme in the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts challenge is weddings, obviously. I’ve never been much of a fan of most ‘traditional’ wedding nail looks – French manicures or soft pinks just aren’t my thing. In fact, for my own wedding, I wore sparkly teal nails with stamped swirls. It was important to me to do what I wanted rather than to conform to any norms – after all, it was my wedding day! With that in mind, I went with a bit of a compromise on these. I used a gold and silver base – pretty traditional wedding colours – but then went all out with stamping and ended up with wedding nails that are anything but traditional.
For my base colour, I used Tip Top Gold Mine and then dabbed on Tip Top Armourplate using the cling wrap method. The result is a lovely mingled gold and silver champagne-like base. I then stamped using different images from plate BP-L 008, which is one of my favourite stamping plates. I used a blue stamping polish from Born Pretty Store for the stamping.
I love the result. The champagney base is perfect and there’s a reason I keep coming back to this stamping plate.
Would you (or did you) go all-out with your wedding nails, or would you stick to something more traditional? Let me know in the comments!
