31DC2016 Day 13: Flamingo Animal Print

Painted Fingertips | Flamingo print nails for the #31DC2016

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is animal print. I’ve never been that much of a fan of the ‘usual’ types of animal print you see – leopard and zebra – although I did enjoy the mini leopard print I did a while back. For today’s look, I decided to stretch the definition of animal print and did a look that reminded me of an Hawaiian print shirt, complete with a flamingo. I was inspired by this look by Glitterfingersss. Even though I’d heard of her before, I only recently discovered that she had a blog, which is fantastic and filled with beautiful pictures, perfect swatches and best of all, amazing nail art. I had to recreate one right away and this was the perfect choice. Painted Fingertips | Flamingo print nails for the #31DC2016

The base that I used was one of the polishes I’ve recently made myself, and one that I was very happy with. All the rest was done with acrylic paints. Hopefully you can tell it’s a flamingo, because when I asked my husband about it, he guessed ‘a swan – a dragon – a duck – a dragonswan?’. At least I suppose I can see where he’d get swan from! A perfect way to try to hold onto the summer, although it’s probably time to admit it’s over! In previous years, I’ve done a colourful leopard print and a poison frog print.
