31DC2016 Day 16: Gradient and Criss-Cross for Geometric

Hi everyone!

Today’s theme in the 31 Day Challenge is geometric. I decided to combine a gradient with chevrons and a criss-cross pattern. I was inspired by this look by Paulina’s Passions. Painted Fingertips | Gradient and Criss-Cross for the #31DC2016 Geometric

I started off with a base of Zoya Ireland. On my middle two fingers, I did a gradient with Ireland and Elevation Khongoryn Els. On the remaining fingers, I used Khongoryn Els and OPI Solitaire to do some freehand chevrons. This was a reminder how much easier it is to freehand with acrylic paint – the polish becomes goopy so quickly! Painted Fingertips | Gradient and Criss-Cross for the #31DC2016 Geometric

I finished the look of with a freehand criss-cross on the gradient nails, using acrylic paint. Painted Fingertips | Gradient and Criss-Cross for the #31DC2016 Geometric

I enjoyed the different colour palette I used for this look. In previous years, I’ve done a tribal print (back when that was still the day’s theme), and a textures and tape look.
