We’re into the final section of the 31 Day Challenge! All the rest of the themes are ‘inspired by’ something and today’s is inspired by a colour. The beginnings of autumn have definitely arrived here in Minnesota and a few of the trees are beginning to change. It seems like this year I’ve caught the fall bug, too. I love summer, but I’ve found myself drawn to browns and bronzes recently. In the Voxbox I received from Influenster a few weeks ago, I got a bottle of Seche Intrepid and also a coupon to get a second colour with the purchase of a bottle of Seche Vite. Seche Vite is a great top coat, so of course I took advantage of it. The colour I decided to pick was the perfectly autumny Seche Whimsical.
This is two coats of Whimsical with top coat. It is a bronzey brown and is gorgeously shimmery. The formula was great, although I did notice tip wear pretty quickly. I didn’t love this as much as Intrepid, but it’s perfect for this time of the year – and the perfect base for some autumn nail art.
I went with a simple, rough leaf print. I started by painting the leaf outlines with black acrylic paint, then filled them in using Tip Top Gold Mine, Sinful Colors Kameleon, and Darling Diva The Alpha.
I love how these polishes work together – the perfect combination of fall colours and metallic finishes. You might notice that my nails are a lot shorter than they’ve been lately – unfortunately, I broke my index fingernail pretty low down. I filed the others as much as I could and I’m still trying to get them even again. I’ve already done a few of the designs for the rest of the challenge, so you’ll be seeing a mixture of long and short nails for the next few days.
It’s the beginning of autumn but it’s still relatively warm – it’s hard to believe in just a couple of months it’ll be snowing! In previous years, I’ve done Tardis nails inspired by Tardis blue, and radiant orchid nails.
