It’s the final day of the Digital Dozen Colour Contrast week! I have my absolute favourite, very high contrast look to share with you today. So far this week, I’ve shared looks in yellow and purple, pink and turquoise, red and green, and orange and blue. Today, I have a combination of various colours, and lots of neon!
My original idea for this look was to stamp the Marilyn Monroe face on each nail in different colours, Warhol pop art style. Once I took out my stamping plate, I noticed that the image was quite broad and wouldn’t fit on all of my nails, so I decided to stick with Monroe on my thumb and a more op-art pattern on each fingernail.
I started with a base of a different neon polish on each nail – yellow, pink, green, orange and blue – using neons I made myself. I then stamped each with the most contrasting stamping polish I could – Born Pretty Store polishes in purple (#8), light blue (#9), dusty pink (#11), turquoise (#18), and yellow. The yellow polish is from an earlier generation and isn’t up to the standard of the newer ones – it doesn’t show up all that clearly but it does enough to complete the look. I used two different images from Moyou plate Pro Collection 10.
I just love how strongly clashing the contrasts are in this look! I like the stamping images too 🙂 Here you can see how well the pink and turquoise worked together – unlike with yesterday’s look. I enjoyed the pop art/op art feeling too!
