It’s day 4 of the Digital Dozen Does Contrast week. So far, I’ve done what I considered the three more obvious colour contrast combinations – red and green, orange and blue, and yellow and purple. Today, I decided to go with a less traditional combination – pink and turquoise.
I figured that since pink is just a little bit away from red, and turquoise is similarly close to green; pink and turquoise should make a good colour contrast. I decided to go with a needle drag to swirl the two colours together. I started by painting half of each nail with Different Dimension Cosmic Ray and the other half with Supermoon The Kinda Guy I’d Stalk in School. Once they were dry, I painted on the two colours on the opposite halves of each nail – one nail at a time – and swirled them together with a needle.
I didn’t quite like the way the needle drag looked on its own, so I decided to add some stamping. I used Moyou London Artist Collection 03 and Essence Stamp Me! White to add a geometric image.
This is my least favourite look for this Digital Dozen week. It just wasn’t quite as I’d imagined it. The contrast wasn’t as strong as I’d hoped and the needle drag also didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped – that said, there’s nothing wrong with it! The final look is perfectly nice, just not what I’d had in mind 🙂
One more day left for this theme – and I have my favourite look to share tomorrow! More Colour Contrast nails are at these links:
