Ombre Nails with OPI Color Paints

Hi everyone!

Today I have a simple but effective nail art to share with you – and I think it is my first ever true ombre nail art. Painted Fingertips | Ombre nails with OPI Color Paints

In case you’re wondering, we often distinguish between a gradient and an ombre when it comes to nail art. I’ve done plenty of gradients, and I also have one on my thumbnail here. Across my other 4 fingernails, I have an ombre, where the colour is showing a gradation from one nail to the next.

An ombre look was one of the first ideas I had when I got my hands on some of the OPI Color Paints a couple of months ago. For this look, I started with a base of OPI Silver Canvas Undercoat and then painted each nail with Pen & Pink. I did the ombre by adding more and more coats of Primarily Yellow to each nail from my pinkie up. I did the gradient on my thumb just by adding coats of Primarily Yellow too, rather than using a sponge. Unfortunately, I did get some bubbling, especially on my thumbnail. I’m sure I could have reduced the bubbles by being more patient or trying to paint thinner coats, but it does seem like these may be more prone to bubbling than usual. I still really liked this look though, it felt subtle but stylish! Painted Fingertips | Ombre nails with OPI Color Paints
