Hi everyone!

To my American readers, I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Mine was delightful and I really got to share in the Thanksgiving spirit for the first time 🙂

I recently received a new review package from Born Pretty Store and I have plenty of new goodies to show you over the next few weeks! The first snow has come and gone here in Minnesota, so it’s a good time to start showing off some snowy manicures. One of the items I received from Born Pretty Store was this snow-themed stamping plate, plate L008.

As you can see, the plate consists of a pattern of large snowflake designs rather than individual nail-sized images. Most of the snowflakes are too large to stamp on a single nail, but you can use portions of them to create your design. Painted Fingertips | Snowflake stamping over chrome powder nails

For my first look using plate L008, I started off with a chrome powder base (I’ll be reviewing the chrome powder soon!) and then stamped using Born Pretty Store stamping polish #9.Painted Fingertips | Snowflake stamping over chrome powder nails

I stamped from a couple of different areas on the plate, but I really like the part I used on my thumb and ring fingers. I think that particular snowflake is probably my favourite part of the plate. Painted Fingertips | Snowflake stamping over chrome powder nails

Quality-wise, this plate is great. It’s well etched and I had no issues with picking up the images or stamping them. Painted Fingertips | Silver snowflake stamping over blue OPI Kiss Me at Midnight

I always like to share two different looks with a new stamping plate – even though this one didn’t turn out quite as I had pictured. I started off with a base of OPI Kiss Me at Midnight, a gorgeous wintery textured polish. Painted Fingertips | Silver snowflake stamping over blue OPI Kiss Me at Midnight

I stamped over it with Tip Top Armourplate, but I found that between the sparkliness and silver glitters in Kiss Me at Midnight, the image didn’t show up as clearly as I had hoped. I even ended up adding top coat, which I almost never do over a textured polish, in the hopes of bringing out the stamping a little more. I do really like the portion of the plate I used for my thumbnail, but the nail art just didn’t turn out quite as I had pictured. No fault to the stamping plate for that, though!
