Can you believe it’s already day 4 of the Digital Dozen Does Black? This week is going by so fast! If you missed my previous posts this week, check out day 1, day 2, and my personal favourite day 3. Last night I finished off my final look for tomorrow’s DD does black post. I was showing it off to my husband when he commented that I’d done an awful lot of black manicures lately! Duh – it’s Digital Dozen black week! I had even asked him for some ideas for the last look the night before, so it’s not like he didn’t know about it 🙂
Today I decided to bring in some texture with the black and of course, you know by now that my favourite thing to use together with texture is tape. That meant I ended up creating a fun pink and black crisscross look. I’m loving how bright that pink is! I started off with a base of Baroness X Go Through Fire. I added striping tape in a crisscross pattern and painted on China Glaze Bump in the Night before peeling the tape back off. I finished it off with some pink and black crackle studs from Born Pretty Store. Bump in the Night is one of the few non-sparkly textures that I really like – I think it’s very versatile and has a lot of nail art possibilities!
I’m not sure why I ended up using pink with my black twice this week – I’m not usually a pink lover! I think it’s just such a vibrant, bright shade that it went really well with the black. Although, I think a vibrant green or blue under the black texture would have probably done just as well here. What do you think of today’s look?
