I bought these.
Hi everyone!
February might seem like an odd time to share a Christmas collection with you, but I have two very good reasons. First of all, I only decided to get most of the polishes from this collection recently; and secondly, the collection is retiring, so you need to go grab what you’d like ASAP!
The Polish ‘M Christmas Collection consists of 10 polishes, each featuring a jelly base packed with coordinating micro glitter and holo glitter. Since the collection is so large, I have divided it into two parts, and today I will be showing you the five ‘warm’ polishes from the collection.
When this collection was first released, I picked up two of the shades. Recently, it was reduced to half price since it is retiring, so I grabbed another 5. Once I got them, I absolutely loved them; add to that the revelation that they could water marble, and I went back and got the last 3. This is the first time I have ever bought a full indie collection – although of course, getting most of them on the half-price special certainly helped! As I am writing this post, the 5 polishes I’m sharing with you are still available and still half price. Most of the rest of the collection has already sold out, so if you like these, you should go scoop them up! First up, we have Polish ‘M Little Drummer Boy. This was one of the ones that I went back for after getting the rest. It was the polish from the collection that I was least sure about – yellow tends not to look nice on me. However, it has great nail art opportunities for use in gradients and water marbles with the rest of the collection, so I decided to get it. I’m glad I did!
Although this polish is described as a chartreuse, it appeared yellow to me on swatches. I was very pleased to find that in person, the greenish tones come out more and it really is a chartreuse. Like the other polishes in the collection, it’s packed with matching microglitter and silver galaxy holo glitter.
Shown here are three coats of Little Drummer Boy with top coat. This was the only one from the collection that needed three coats, since the base was a little sheerer. Because of all the glitter, all of the polishes in this collection dry slightly textured, but a top coat smooths it out perfectly. The formula is great – the perfect thickness to give you perfect control.
The macro above isn’t colour accurate, but you can see some of the glorious holo glitters!
I may have been skeptical of this one, but I’m glad I ended up getting it.
Next up, we have the vibrant orange Polish ‘M Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.
I really like this shade of orange, it’s rich and slightly dark while still being bright, and not yellow-toned. Shown here are two coats with top coat. Again, the formula was lovely!
It’s so packed with glitter! I didn’t think I’d like this one on its own because I’m not the biggest orange fan and really just bought it for nail art; once I put it on, though, I quite liked it!
It’s not as dark as shown on the macro above. Again though, just look at those glitters!
Next up, we have the first red from the collection.
This is Polish ‘M Here Comes Santa Claus. It’s a bright, slightly orange-toned red.
This one surprised me. If you’re a regular blog follower, you probably know that I tend more towards cool shades. When I put this one on, though, I was blown away! It is incredibly sparkly and the specific tone of red really suited me!
Shown here are two coats with top coat. It’s so very sparkly!
Just look at that macro! When my husband saw this one, he immediately commented on how Christmassy it was. He had no idea it was from a Christmas collection, so that means it’s really doing its job! 🙂
Next up, we have a deep, pink-toned red.
This one is Polish ‘M Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I’m loving the names of all the polishes in this collection!
At first, I thought this would be quite similar to Here Comes Santa Claus, but it’s actually quite different. Looking at them next to one another, you can see that Here Comes Santa Claus is orange toned while this one is pink toned.
Once again, this is two coats with top coat. As with the others in this collection, the formula was delightful.
I just can’t get over all the glorious glitter you can see in the macros. You should see these in the sun! The holo glitters sparkle and shine gloriously.
Finally, the last one that I am sharing with you today is a stunning maroon.
This one is Polish ‘M Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.
This one is described as magenta, but I really don’t see magenta at all. It is quite cherry-toned, but considerably darker than magenta to me.
This one is probably my favourite from this half of the collection. I really like the darker shade. As with the others, this is two coats with top coat and it had a phenomenal formula.
Just look how squishy and how glittery it is!
I love this collection and I can’t wait to show you the second half! If you like these, they’re available here from the Polish ‘M site, but they are retiring so grab them soon! They’re half price at the moment, so only $4.50 each – a bargain!
Let me know what you think of these polishes – which one is your favourite?
