I have a swatch to share with you today from a new-to-me brand, Lollipop Posse Lacquer. This is actually the polish that made me decide to make my first Lollipop Posse purchase – there was a limited amount available, so I had to act! Here’s Glittery Gray Matter. Have you heard of The Color Box? It’s a quarterly collaboration box between bloggers and makers. Each box consists of 5 polishes in a certain colour family – like teal, grey, purple or green – which are the four they’ve released so far. The next box will be the blue box, so join the group if you’re interested in getting one! Sometimes, if there are a few extra bottles left over, the makers will release them individually. That’s what happened here – Lollipop Posse Glittery Gray Matter was from the grey box, and after box sales were over, a few were released on the Lollipop Posse Lacquer site. I thought this would be the perfect shade to have on hand for occasions when you need to look professional – an important meeting or even a fancy wedding. The understated shade of grey makes it really classy, but the tiny flakes give it enough sparkle to make it something really special. Part of me wishes that the grey was even paler, because I think this would be a lovely concept for a bridal polish (if you decide to go with traditional wedding nails – I didn’t!). Glittery Gray Matter is a very pale gray shade, with a subtle blue and purple shimmer and not-so-subtle holo flakes. Shown here are 3 coats with top coat. It looked pretty good in 2 coats, but I needed a third for full opacity. The formula was great and easy to work with. You have actually seen this shade being used on here at least once before – I used it as the base in my Christmas Print nail art in December. The macro isn’t colour-accurate, but just look at that flakie goodness! Each Color Box shade is created as a collaboration between a blogger and a maker. This particular one was co-created by blogger Amanda from Amanda Loves Polish. It just so happens that Amanda also lives in Minnesota – pretty close to where I am – and we’ve even met once! So, it was extra fun to get my hands on a shade that she had helped to create. Overall, I’m really glad that I chose this as one of the first polishes I tried from Lollipop Posse. I loved both this one and the other one I purchased, which I’ll hopefully be showing you soon. Now that my eyes have been opened to this brand, I’m seeing even more gorgeous polishes being released, too!
