It’s day 2 of the Digital Dozen does Art and I have more freehand goodness to share with you today! For this one, I was inspired by this beautiful painting called First Snow Fall by Megan Duncanson of MADART studios. There are lots of gorgeous works on her site, so go take a look! This actually isn’t the first time I’ve done a nail art inspired by MADART! Back in 2014, I did a nail art look inspired by the gorgeously swirly Home on the Hill. I really like this artist’s style – bright colours, stylised shapes, and a generous helping of pop all make for some art I can really enjoy.
On my nails, the bright colours also looked amazing and I got several compliments while wearing these! I started with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White and then painted using acrylic paints. I did wish that I could have gotten the colours even more vibrant in a few spots, but overall I loved this look and it was so much fun to paint! I really liked that this one looked really cool even on individual nails, when the overall picture wasn’t coming together. That’s often a disadvantage of nail at that goes across all the nails – it can look simply odd in person if you don’t see the nails lined up perfectly. That wasn’t the case with this one at all, it just looked cool! I’m still loving this theme! I’m glad that it challenged me to get out my acrylic paints and do some proper freehand art. This is my favourite type of nail art to do, and I just don’t make the time for it often enough! Hopefully I’ll have at least one more good freehand look to share with you this week, if all goes well with my paintbrushes tonight 🙂
