Swatch: OPI Kiss Me at Midnight

Hi everyone!

Today I have a swatch of an older but still beautiful OPI Liquid Sand polish to share with you. This one is called Kiss Me At Midnight. Painted Fingertips | Swatch - OPI Kiss Me At MidnightHere I am showing 3 coats of Kiss Me at Midnight. I’m sure that 2 coats will be just fine, especially if you have a full-size bottle. I’m pretty sure the only reason I needed the third coat was because application from the mini bottle isn’t as smooth.

I am a huge fan of textured polishes and the nail art possibilities they offer, so it should come as no surprise that I love this one! It’s the perfect, icy shade of blue; the glitter-to-base ratio is ideal; and the amount of texture is just right! This polish was part of a Christmas collection that was done a couple of years ago with Mariah Carey. I remember picking up a set of minis and being really glad that they made it to South Africa (yes, this was before I moved!). Like I said, this was part of a Christmas release, and I really liked that they were able to make this icy blue seem Christmassy despite using a less traditional colour. It also makes it more wearable year-round! I’ve used it in nail art a couple of times, for example in this Christmas tree look from 2014! I hope that you are still able to find a bottle of this beauty if you want it – I do see there are still some available on EBay, if nowhere else. If you’re not a fan of textured polishes, you can always add a couple of coats of top coat to smooth it out, but I tend to prefer wearing my textures ‘as intended’.
