I’ve got another Born Pretty Store stamping plate review to share with you today – along with two new nail art looks! In case you missed it, yesterday I reviewed a stunning unicorn stamping plate. Today, I have a Valentine’s themed plate, BPX-L014. Here is the promotional image of the plate:
It may be Valentine’s themed, but you can wear roses or hearts on your nails any day of the year! A couple of the rose images are perfect for creating stamping decals, so that’s what I did first:I used Sinful Colors Kameleon for the leaves, and Polish ‘M Here Comes Santa Claus and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree for the roses. I applied the decals over a base of Lollipop Posse Glittery Gray Matter. This image really is perfect for creating decals! And as I mentioned yesterday, this is one time when my stamping mat really shows its worth. I actually did the decals for both yesterday and today’s posts at the same time using the mat, which was very convenient.Look at those glittery roses! I can’t help but imagine doing the same thing, but with blue roses. Wouldn’t that look amazing? For my second manicure, I stuck with some more straightforward stamping using the hearts, bows and arrows image. I decided to make it a little more interesting by using two different colours for stamping! I started off with a base of Zoya Aster. I used two Born Pretty Store stamping polishes – #8 (purple) and #11 (dusty pink). To get the mixed colours on the stamp, I just put alternating dots down the side of the image before scraping it across and stamping. I really like the result, I should mix stamping colours more often! Aster is one of my favourite Zoya polishes. I’m glad I got a chance to use it again! I was really happy with how well this image stamped, but I do have to add that I tried stamping the top corner image (the striped hearts) on a separate occasion and I struggled with them. I was trying to do something a bit fancy though, so that could be why – hopefully next time I try that image, things will go better.
