This month is Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer’s 4th birthday, and I have their lovely birthday polish to share with you as well as some more May releases! Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is a brand I have been watching for a long time, so I was overjoyed when Julie contacted me about swatching for this release. All of these will be releasing tomorrow, 31 May, at 3:30 pm EDT, in the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer shop.
Aside from the four polishes I have to share with you today, there will also be a re-release of a few older polishes. I will have some of them to share with you soon as well, but for now, here are the four new releases:
First up is the fourth birthday celebratory polish, On B-Days We Wear Blue. I love blue polish so I was excited to try this one! This is a gorgeous light but bright blue with a green-to-purple shifting shimmer. The green predominates on these pictures but you can see the shift clearly in person.Shown here are two coats with top coat.
The second one I have to share with you is a part of a Destination Polish Duo collaboration with Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish. I don’t have the Poetry Cowgirl half of the duo, but you can see it in this post by Cosmetic Sanctuary. These two polishes are inspired by a picture of the colour changing fountains at Trafalgar Square in London. The duo also comes with a fun bag of glitter for nail art.
The last two polishes I have to show you are both exclusives for the BEGLove Facebook fan group. These two are completely stunning so if you’re not in the group, be sure to join it so that you can get your hands on these!
This is Morning Star. This one is a navy blue jelly packed with black holo microglitters, blue holo glitters in different sizes, matte yellow hex glitter, and matte yellow star glitters. This polish is inspired by the famous and wonderful Van Gogh painting, The Starry Night.
I wasn’t so sure about this one in the bottle, but I loved it once I got it on my nails. Shown here are 3 coats with top coat. This one looks good in 2 coats already but I decided on a third to get full coverage and depth with the jelly base.
Look at how it sparkles!
The formula is great and the glitter transferred easily and smoothly to the nail, but I did find myself wishing that there were just a few more of the stars. I like that there aren’t so many that it becomes overly busy, but I thought they were just slightly sparse.
Shown here are two easy, gorgeous coats with top coat. This one was pretty opaque in a single coat already, but I added a second one for full coverage. This one is so beautiful. It’s inspired by the milky way and honestly, it’s perfect! This one is a dusty indigo base with scattered holo and holo microglitter and green to purple shifting shimmer. The green to purple shift is completely gorgeous and I couldn’t stop looking at my nails with this one on!
