Hi everyone!

Can you believe it’s Monday already? That weekend went by in the blink of an eye! At least I have some fun nail art to share with you today. Today I am reviewing another Born Pretty Store stamping plate, plate BP-L049. I have actually already shared a manicure using one of the images from this plate, in my review of the pearl white stamping polish. Nothing on this plate was quite calling out to me to be used for decals or leadlighting, so instead I have two regular stamped looks to share with you today; I tried to be creative with the base and stamping colours instead.

Painted Fingertips | Silver stamping over a neon pink and blue water marbleFor the first look, I decided to stamp over a water marbled base! (And it’s not even Wednesday!). I started off with a fun water marble using Pipe Dream Polish All In and On the List. I then stamped using Powder Perfect Silver Stamping Polish and plate BP-L049.

Painted Fingertips | Silver stamping over a neon pink and blue water marbleI really like the pink, blue and silver together! I feel like this plate has some really good images for plain old regular stamping. I love that because honestly, it’s what I use my plates for most often. Stamping decals or leadlighting nail art looks can be stunning, but they take a lot longer and I often just want a quick stamp.

Painted Fingertips | Silver stamping over a neon pink and blue water marbleFor my second look using this plate, I decided to try some gradient stamping.

Painted Fingertips | Gradient stamping with BP-L049 over Crowstoes Huginn & MuninnI started off with a base of Crowstoes Huginn & Muninn (Sparked). It’s an incredible polish! I then stamped using plate BP-L049 along with BPS Stamping Polish #8 (purple) and BPS Stamping Polish #21 (pink).

Painted Fingertips | Gradient stamping with BP-L049 over Crowstoes Huginn & MuninnTo get a smoother looking gradient of the two stamping polishes, I just applied them next to one another on the plate, and then quickly scraped several times at slightly different angles to blend the colours. I think it worked fairly well!

Painted Fingertips | Gradient stamping with BP-L049 over Crowstoes Huginn & Muninn - macroI almost added a third colour to the gradient – a blue – but I tested it out on my stamping mat before the time and found that it looked better with just these two against the base of Huginn & Muninn.
