As you know, I am a fan of many of the Born Pretty Store stamping products, and I use their stampers, stamping plates, and stamping polish regularly. They have recently added some pearl colours to their stamping polish lineup, and today I have the pearl white (#54) to share with you.
The first thing I wanted to do with a pearl white stamping polish was to try a bridal white-on-white lacy stamped look. I started off with a base of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, then stamped using Born Pretty Store pearl white stamping polish and Born Pretty Store plate 春の歌-03.
My first observation was that I don’t like stark white polish on me. It made my fingers look red and I just didn’t like it! The lacy stamping wasn’t bad, though. The pearl white shows up well against the plain white with almost a soft silvery look to it.
As you can see, there were a couple of gaps on the stamp; I’m not sure if I was just having an off day but it didn’t come out perfect. I did feel as though the pearl white stamping polish might be just a tad fussier than Born Pretty’s other stamping polishes. From afar, the stamping still looks great since the tone-on-tone colour scheme means it doesn’t stand out too much.
For my second look with this stamping polish, I decided to test it out over a dark base to see how well it shows up.
As you can see, the pearly white showed up perfectly over the dark base. The stamping itself is a little imperfect, and once again, I think that this pearlescent finish may be just a little more finicky than the regular stamping polish – it still stamps well, but I’ll be extra careful when using it in the future.
